Michael Prosserman aka “Bboy Piecez” found his passion for break dancing at a very young age. By the time he was three, Michael was already standing on his head while watching Saturday morning cartoons and by high school, was travelling the world as one of Canada’s top break-dancers. He was soon accepted into the pool of performers for Cirque Du Soleil and while driven by his fervent passion for dance, Michael went on to compete globally against many of the world’s top break-dancers, placing first in over 22 competitions. Michael was featured in the major motion picture “Honey” at the age of eighteen and performed on the same stage as artists such as Talib Kweli, Maestro, Biz Markie, GZA, and more.
Michael is the Founder and Executive Director of UNITY Charity, an organization that empowers youth to be role models and leaders in their communities through after school programs in Break Dancing, Graffiti Art, Spoken Word Poetry & Beat Boxing. Today, UNITY Charity reaches over 100,000 youth and Michael continues to inspire and share his outlet of dance with young people across Canada.
Michael has performed for over 300 audiences, has spoken at over 100 schools and at prominent conferences including TED x Youth Toronto, Government of Ontario Federated Health Conference and TDSB’s Dare to Dream Conference. Furthermore, Michael has taught hundreds of workshops all over the world from Canada to Italy to Asia to the Arctic, on topics ranging from social entrepreneurship to breaking barriers within international community, through dance.
